Everybody needs a One -on -One

If you are like most people, you can’t tell your life story without referencing people who played significant roles along the way. The same is true of your faith story – we were created to live our lives in community!

  • Do you have someone who knows the REAL you?
Is there someone who regularly prays for you?

  • Does this person frequently encourage and challenge you?

  • Do you have someone you can share your questions and doubts with?

  • Do you long to be heard by a friend, and in turn, to listen to the thoughts of that friend?

If you answered no to one or more of these questions, you need to be in a one-on-one relationship!

What is a 1:1?

A one-on-one is a spiritual friendship with these important characteristics:

  • Meet regularly – These relationships don’t just happen; they deepen only if you have consistent time together. We encourage a weekly meeting, which can be anywhere and in any way that the two of you want.

  • Be Real – It is easy to live a lie, or even tell “most” of the truth. A one-on-one is the person to whom you can be and show your authentic self.

  • Grow – The goal is help each other move forward in following Jesus, becoming a disciple full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, self-control (the fruits of the spirit)

  • Encouragement – This means ‘to give courage to’ – and in a one-on-one, you can push each other forward by motivating each other and holding each other accountable.

  • Trust – This is a relationship of openness and confidentiality. What you say stays just between the two of you.

  • Supernatural – This is MORE than just a great friend. When the two of you ground your friendship in prayer, the Bible, and following Jesus, God is part of that process and brings about real change and real love.

How do I get into a 1:1?

There are several ways.

  • Not sure if there is anyone you could ask? No worries. Let us know and we will try to pair you.

  • If there is someone in your life who would be up for this,  explain,  invite and start together.
